GSL and the environment California is the most aggressive state in the US when it comes to environmental issues. While the cost is very expensive to comply, GSL's position is to not only be in compliance, but to be ahead of the requirements wherever possible. Here's some of what we are doing: -Aggressive recycling program -GSL is in compliance with CARB's strict forklift rules. This meant replacement of 80% of our forklifts with new electric and propane forklifts. (being out of compliance subjects warehouses to fines of $500/forklift/day they are out of compliance, and CARB has already visited us! We're CLEAN!) -Use of ambient lighting with the maximum coverage of skylights -Pallet recovery, recouping and recycling -Our warehouse has been completely retrofit with high efficiency T8 florescent lighting -Exterior lighting has been replaced with the most efficient flood lighting.
