The management of GSL is not only dedicated to serving the needs of our clients, but also to sharing back with the transportation community. We are involved with the following organizations: Harbor Transportations Club: Fred is a past president, and continues working with the club as an advisor. Harbor Truckers for a Sustainable Future: Fred is active in the steering committee for this organization. California Trucking Association: Fred is an active member and serves on the intermodal carriers steering committee. American Trucking Association: Members for a number of years. LA Transportation Club Long Beach Chamber of Commerce Workforce Investment Board: Fred serves on the board of this Multi City commission which directs programs to train and find employment for those out of work. Advocacy: No longer can business quietly sit back and let special interest groups be the only ones molding legislation. Fred has personally met with many of the elected officials that make the rules for our industry. Both LA and LB mayors; many of the city councilmen, CARB director Mary Nichols and her staff, a number of US congressmen and their staff, including Chairman Oberstar, Chairman of the Transportation Committee. |
